The Scottish National Team succeeded in securing their place in the overdue European championship after a long and frustrating journey. They qualified through a nail pitting penalties shoot-out to reach their major tournament in the last 20 years.
They crazily celebrated that event, the mood in the dressing room was fantastic and joyful where players were singing and dancing.

The Journey Of Qualification
Scotland was in the group “I” with Belgium, Russia, Cyprus, San Marino & Kazakhstan. They finished 3rd in the group behind two strong giants Belgium and Russia with 15 points through 5 wins and 5 losses, so Scotland qualified for the playoffs.
They got Israel in the draw at home in Glasgow & the winner will face the winner from Norway vs Serbia. It was a difficult closed game against Israel that went into extra-time & penalties shoot-outs. Eran Zahavi missed 1st penalty for Israel after McGinn scored the opening one. McLean scored the winning penalty and sent the Scottish national team to the next level of play-offs against Serbia in Belgrade.
A nervous tactical match where Ryan Christies made Scotland took the lead at minute 52’ before Luka Jovic managed to score the draw at minute 90’. In the same scenario as against Israel, they went into penalties shoot-outs.
