Croatia will take on Scotland in the third and final game of matchday three of UEFA Euro 2020.
It was an unexpected turn of events for the World Cup finalists without a win in the first two games. England and the Czech Republic are tied in the first place with four points, whereas Croatia and Scotland are tied in the elimination zone with only one point.
Our Prediction:
Croatia 2-1 Scotland
Actual Result:
Croatia 3-1 Scotland
Croatia
After a defeat to England by one goal, the Czech Republic held Croatia at bay and limited them to only one point.
For a side that only fell by two goals in the World Cup final three years ago, Croatia’s side has had a miserable start to the Euro campaign.
If it weren’t for Croatia’s veteran winger Ivan Perisic, they would have lost the second game as well. It was a flailing display of football, and unlike anything, we saw three years ago.
Zlatko Dalić and his men will go out on Tuesday evening to get a win to their name and pray that England defeats the Czech Republic by two or more goals.
Scotland
It is no doubt that Scotland has many Premier League stars on its side, such as Liverpool’s Andy Robertson, Manchester United’s Scott McTominay, Arsenal’s Kieran Tierney, Aston Villa’s John McGinn, and Chelsea’s Billy Gilmour.
Despite a fairly reasonable squad, the Scottish team has failed to achieve a single win in its first two games. It will be a tight contest between the two sides, and the fans will be biting their nails to see the outcome.
Possible lineups
The two teams might start like the following:
Croatia: Livakovic; Vrsaljko, Vida, Lovren, Barisic; Brozovic, Kovacic; Vlasic, Modric, Perisic; Petkovic
Scotland: Marshall; McTominay, Hanley, Tierney; O’Donnell, McGregor, Gilmour, McGinn, Robertson; Dykes, Adams
Prediction
With current standings, anything can happen in the group. From an England elimination to a Scotland qualification, we have mixed feelings about the fixture.
Our prediction: Croatia 2-1 Scotland
