After winning against Switzerland and sealing qualification on the same day, Italy might be looking to rest some key players against Wales.
On the other hand, Wales would be looking for a draw at least to the next stages of Euro 2020.
Italy 1-0 Wales
Italy 1-0 Wales
The Italians had a decent start to the campaign after winning the first two games by three goals. The defence remained intact, and the midfield was on the lookout.
The box-to-box plays by the midfielders were a treat to watch by the football fans around the world. The Italians have submerged their plays into a dominating style, and up until now, neither Turkey nor Switzerland have managed to break their game.
It won’t be a headache for Italy unless they want to maintain a winning streak, but we’ll wait to see how they line up and how Mancini demonstrates his side’s football.
The Welsh team currently sits on the second spot, two points below the Italians. They were fortunate enough to escape with a point in the first game against Switzerland, but they showed glimpses of artistry in the second match against Turkey.
Former Arsenal FC man Aaron Ramsey opened the scoring after a wonderful lobbed through ball by Gareth Bale. Later on, Bale doubled the lead despite missing a penalty earlier in the match.
The Welsh team will be going into the match instilled with hope. We can only hope and see how the situations play out for the dragons.
Italy will be looking to rest its key players against Wales, so we should be looking at a lineup like this:
Italy: Donnarumma; Di Lorenzo, Bonucci, Acerbi, Emerson; Verratti, Cristante, Barella; Bernardeschi, Belotti, Chiesa
Wales: Ward; Roberts, Mepham, Rodon, Gunter, Williams; Morrell, Allen; Bale, Wilson, James
It’s difficult to predict anything here since we know Italy will be going in the game without their key players, but despite their star-studded squad, they might be able to get away with a narrow win.
Our prediction: Italy 1-0 Wales
The Italians have a perfect record of wins in their last ten games without conceding a goal, and it is not possible that the Welsh team breaks the balance.
