Sweden will meet Poland on the last matchday of the UEFA Euro 2020 group stages.
The Swiss team remains unbeaten after winning a game against Slovakia and keeping Spain at bay. On the other hand, Poland suffered a defeat against Slovakia after Skriniar netted a winner in the 69th minute.
Sweden 1-1 Poland
Sweden 3-2 Poland
By the end of the last matchday, the Swedish team is blessed with a win and a draw. Sweden sits on top of the table, two ranks above the group’s favourites, Spain.
But, on the downside, if they lose against Poland and Slovakia managed to draw against Spain, they might have to see an exit route.
So, what will it be? A qualification for Poland or a hard-fought victory for Poland?
We may not be seeing the same Poland team we saw a few years ago, but the team still has a few ounces of brilliance left in it.
It was an unfortunate start for Poland as they lost to Slovakia and then went one man down just after the half-hour mark, but they showed glimpses of perfection in the game against Spain.
After trailing by a goal from Alvaro Morata, Poland equalized through a towering header by Robert Lewandowski. The Bayern Munich striker has an impressive record to his name as he scored his 67th international goal in 121 appearances.
With a prolific striker like Lewandowski on their side, the Polish team will focus on the prize. The real issue is whether they will be able to turn things around against Sweden. Let’s wait and find out.
The two teams will line up like the following against each other on the last matchday:
Sweden: Olsen; Lustig, Lindelof, Danielson, Augustinsson; S. Larsson, Olsson, Ekdal, Forsberg; Isak, Berg
Poland: Szczesny; Bereszynski, Bednarek, Glik; Jozwiak, Moder, Krychowiak, Zielinski, Puchacz; Swiderski, Lewandowski
As both teams like to sit back and defend, we predict a draw here or a win for Sweden at maximum.
Our prediction: Sweden 1-1 Poland
The Swedes are a force to reckon with when it comes to their defensive capabilities. Poland may be better on the break, but Sweden is clearly in a better form right now.
